Corrective Action Management (CAM) is an overarching continuous improvement mechanism used to implement remedial measures stemming from the IIED and AAM processes. In addition, it is utilized to implement changes resulting from regulatory updates, such as Export Control Reform. Effective CAM ensures remedial measures address the root-causes of escapes. A failure to address the root-cause of an escape increases the risk of repeat violations and, therefore, a company’s risk of regulatory fines and penalties.
Built on the Trade Compliance Standard, Trade Collaboration Engine’s CAM Solution provides companies with automated capabilities for defining, assigning, reviewing, tracking and documenting corrective actions. The CAM Solution consists of automated forms, workflows and reports that enable companies to consistently manage corrective actions across management groups, sites, functions, processes and time.
Define Corrective Actions
Deploy standardized forms for defining corrective actions.
Achieve Traceability and Accuracy
Associate corrective actions to escapes to achieve traceability. Ensure corrective action accurately addresses the root-cause of the corresponding escape.
Ensure Ownership and Viability
Assign ownership and route corrective action for ownership review and approval prior to commitment and implementation. Ensure the company does not commit to and implement corrective actions that are altogether not feasible, not feasible in the committed timeframe, or feasible, but ineffective.
Assign, schedule and track corrective action tasks and implementation.
Document Objective Evidence
Document objective evidence that the corrective action has been implemented.
Incorporate into Future Assessments and Audits
When desired or required route the corrective action to the AAM processes for future inclusion in an audit and/or assessment.
View CAM activities in interactive dashboards to gain insight into improvement activities.
